The DSU Fall Event 2024 was a landmark gathering for the direct selling industry, hosted at the Irving Convention Center from September 23-25. Hundreds of executives from over 120 different direct selling companies attended, and the event was a remarkable showcase of cutting-edge insights, invaluable networking opportunities, and actionable strategies.

The event kicked off with a private CEO Forum, offering an unparalleled opportunity for high-level executives to engage in focused discussions on leadership, strategy and innovation. This invitation-only session set the stage for meaningful connections and strategic takeaways, all designed to help companies navigate the future of direct selling.

First-Ever Legal & Compliance Workshop


This year marked the debut of the Legal & Compliance Workshop, which tackled some of the most pressing regulatory issues facing the direct selling industry today. Far from a routine legal discussion, the workshop covered essential topics like the Chevron Deference, Non-Compete and Non-Solicitation Agreements and emerging trends in Class Action Suits and featured an engaging “gotchas” segment that was the highest-rated session of the day. Attendees praised the workshop for its comprehensive coverage and practical takeaways, with many noting how crucial these discussions were for staying ahead in an evolving regulatory environment.

DSU Day One:
A Masterclass of Insights and Innovation

Day One launched with an electrifying series of general sessions that delivered high-value insights from the industry's top pioneers and visionaries—the day featured dynamic presentations on modern compensation plan design, an engaging Private Equity Panel that explored the shifting financial landscape and deep dives into how AI is revolutionizing direct selling.

 

Attendees also heard from numerous top executives who shared their breakthrough strategies and forward-thinking ideas, setting the tone for the rest of the event with energy and actionable takeaways.

The much-anticipated AI Workshop, hosted by Blake Mallen, delivered immense value to those in attendance. The session focused on exploring how AI is transforming sales, marketing and training.

 

Attendees were highly engaged, diving deep into the practical applications of AI and walking away with actionable strategies to implement in their businesses immediately. This session, back by popular demand, was lauded for its forward-thinking content and actionable takeaways.

DSU Day Two:
Unleashing New Opportunities and Strategic Growth

Day Two continued the momentum with a series of high-impact sessions that delved deep into strategic growth and emerging opportunities within the direct selling space—the day featured the SHIFT Panel, where top field leaders shared firsthand experiences and visionary tactics directly from the frontline of market changes.

 

Additionally, the Startup Panel provided fresh perspectives on navigating the challenges and seizing opportunities in the early stages of business. Insightful presentations from industry figures like Wayne Moorehead, Alex Hoffman and Evan Brengman further enriched the day, offering attendees a comprehensive view of innovative strategies and practical solutions for expanding their business footprint.

The day closed with a bonus session on the Services Companies in the industry, highlighting the rapid growth and innovation within the direct selling services sector. Covering essential services, financial and real estate industries and the booming door-to-door sales market, this $25 billion industry has quickly surpassed traditional product-based companies. The session kicked off with an overview of the dynamic landscape, offering attendees critical insights into how service companies are leveraging direct selling to reach new audiences and achieve rapid growth.


Building on this foundation, the session featured a series of panels and presentations that explored the future of services in direct selling. Attendees heard from industry leaders about the strategies driving success in the sector, including innovative approaches and practical takeaways to apply immediately. Whether focused on services or product-based businesses, participants gained a clear understanding of how to capitalize on the opportunities presented by this thriving market.

The DSU Fall Event proved to be a resounding success, delivering on its promise to educate, inspire and connect. Attendees were enthusiastic, with one noting, “A superb slate of execs with a comprehensive range of topics. A must-attend event!”

The first of these is the landmark DSU LATAM Event on January 8-9, 2025, at the InterContinental Hotel in Doral, Florida. This event will spotlight key executives and companies leading the charge in Latin American markets, offering insights and best practices for those looking to expand into this rapidly growing sector. 


Additionally, mark your calendars for DSU Spring 2025 taking place from March 25-27, as well as upcoming events in Amsterdam and South Korea, and DSU Fall 2025, set to take place in Plano, Texas, in October.
